Hey Happy Boston Gay Day

So before I really write anything gay per se (okay pride details are here if you ended up on this page looking for boston gay day info BOSTON PRIDE 2010) does it bug anyone but me that Bethenney F. from real housewives starts her new show by getting up and eating Frosting from the fridge in her PJ's for breakfast!!! WTF I thought she is suppossed to be the healthy one? Ok yes I probably do watch way too much reality tv but come on - Lost is gone now, cable shows are on WAY too late (we don't have a DVR) and I am trying really hard not to obsess on everything that is not getting done for our upcoming move. So yes its me and Bravo and my cooking shows - and thats the way its gonna be.

Last night was Boston Dyke March - Em and I took the boy. Out of 2000 queer women the only person I saw that I know is the boys preschool teacher - so we marched with her and her girlfriend of course.

Today if we wake up we are off to Pride. The boy tells me he wants to wear his Superman shirt.

Friday - Dyke March Boston

We went to the Dyke March tonight. R was not in the greatest mood - he really does not enjoy crowded events full of grownups. I was surprised that there were not a few more kids there - less than a dozen probably and none that he wanted to run around with -- none of our friends. Luckily his teacher Jenn was there with her sweetie julie & she got some smiles out of him.
so Boston Dyke march is a march and not a "meander" like the SF version. We had a nice sunset hike through the Common, Back Bay, and eventually looping back into the common.
Estimates were that there were 2000 foks marching - not bad.

Afterwards we headed to Harvard Square for vietnemese food at our favorite neighborhood place Le's.

Beartown Hike - Shire

We went on a "hike" with Grandpa around Benedict Pond in the Beartown Forest- this is the same hike that Em and I did on New Years a few years ago.

One of the highlights this time was seeing the Beaver Lodge in the lake and the trees that the beavers have been working on.

There was also a clear opening into the den... No beavers though.

Adventure Day Marissa

For our "Adventure Day" with Marissa we decided to be very Boston and to walk the Freedom trail. We started by hopping the T down to Park street and then finding the head of the trail there - it took us down to the waterfront where we stopped into the aquarium (and had a bit of lunch) and up through the North End before coming out around Fanuil Hall.

Hooker Entrance

Riss wouldn't stand by the sign for me to take her picture for some reason... so you just have to imagine.

Charles River Gosslings

As part of our stay-cation we headed down to the river with Mommy to meet some of the newest residents of Cambridge - the baby gosslings. We found three different families with about a half dozen little ones each.... We brought them some bread crumbs and the boy was VERY good about not chasing the mommas and babies.

Birthday Photos

these poor shots will have to keep you satisfied until I get copies of the photos that Grandpa Phil took. But until then here are some views of our rained in birthday boy and co. Since it was POURING and thundering we cancelled our planned playdate in the park and just pared down to family and the og playgroup kids in our apt. Gabe, Jack (also a birthday boy today) and Harriet joined us along with the Granparents N. and DGina Farah and Dori. We valiantly did our best to drink a couple dozen juice boxes and eat 4 bags of pretzels and chips. We got some good BBQ sandwiches from Coast Cafe and Mommy brought 20 special cookies from the cafe by her work.

Present opening time was a HUGE hit.

Thanks everyone for such a fun time.

GNS Spring Break Play-Date

Today we headed out with some of our classmates from Garden to visit with Tristan at his new house. On the drive Lily G. celebrated Earth Day by reciting "The Lorax" for us - I was duly impressed. I was also very impressed with Tristans new house - WOW
it is amazing by the way.

It looks like Tristan, his parents and his brother and baby found the perfect place.

Here's a shot of the Garden Mom's and Dads in the garden watching our kids run around.

and the children at rest....

The boy loved his morning - thanks so much Mina & Lloyd for having us all...

City Hall Lawn

We have been getting a rash of summer like weather -
Well summer in SF that is. Temps in the high 60's and low 70's I am loving it.
And the boy is loving all the time that we are getting to be outside and play.
His favorite game on the city hall lawns is the run down the hill at full speed and jump on momma knocking her down game.
